@allaboutallysonLiving near Lake Park HS
Living around Lake Park puts you in the heart of northwest DuPage County, where Roselle, Medinah, Itasca, Bloomingdale, and Keeneyville all flow together into one comfortable, established pocket of the Chicago suburbs. The East Campus sits right up against Medinah Country Club, so a lot of these neighborhoods carry a leafy, settled feel, with mature trees, mid-century ranches, split-levels, and newer custom homes mixed in block by block. It is the kind of area where families plant roots and stay, and the Lancer blue and white shows up on yard signs every fall.
Getting downtown is genuinely easy from here, which is a big part of the draw. Roselle, Medinah, and Itasca all have their own Metra stops on the Milwaukee District West line, so a one-seat ride into Chicago Union Station is part of daily life for plenty of commuters. By car you are close to I-290, I-355, and the Elgin-O'Hare corridor, with O'Hare itself just a short hop east, which is a real plus for anyone who travels for work.
Day to day, the towns keep a friendly, low-key village feel: walkable downtowns in Roselle and Itasca, parks and forest preserves nearby, and the Bloomingdale and Stratford Square retail just down the road for everything you need. You get suburban space and good schools without losing quick access to the city, which is exactly why buyers keep circling back to the Lake Park communities.

The school
Lake Park is a four-year public high school split across two campuses in Roselle, a western suburb of Chicago. Citizens of northwestern DuPage County formed Lake Park Community High School District 108 in 1953, and the doors opened at what is now East Campus, 600 South Medinah Road, in September 1956. As enrollment climbed over the next two decades, the West Campus was built in 1975, giving the school its distinctive setup where freshmen and sophomores attend East and juniors and seniors attend West. The name Lake Park comes from the campuses sitting between Lake Street and Irving Park Road, and the East Campus borders Medinah Country Club.
Lake Park serves grades 9 through 12 across its two campuses with a roughly 15 to 1 student-to-teacher ratio. The school offers a wide slate of Advanced Placement courses and earned a College Success Award for the 2024-25 school year for its work preparing students for college. It is accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Lake Park fields about 30 athletic teams competing in the DuKane Conference and the IHSA, and the program has a deep state-championship history across both sports and activities. Boys track and field is the marquee program, winning IHSA team state titles in 1997 and four straight from 2010 through 2013. The Lancettes competitive dance team has become a recent powerhouse with multiple Class 3A state championships, and the school has also won state crowns in boys gymnastics, competitive cheerleading, and bowling.

Not a Zestimate. A real CMA from someone who's sold this neighborhood, knows the floor plan premiums, and can tell you which upgrades the buyer pool here actually pays for.
