@bareragsLiving near Dundee-Crown HS
This is the Fox River corridor at its most livable. The area around Dundee-Crown, stretching from Carpentersville across the river into the east side of Algonquin and over toward Lake in the Hills, is classic Northwest suburban Chicago: leafy established neighborhoods near the water, newer subdivisions pushing west along Randall Road, and a real mix of price points that lets first-time buyers and move-up families shop the same towns. Route 31 and Route 25 run the river on either bank, Route 62 and Route 72 connect you east and west, and Interstate 90 sits just a few miles north for the commute toward O'Hare and the city. The Fox River itself anchors the whole area, with forest preserves, the Carpentersville dam, and miles of trail giving weekends an easy outdoor rhythm.
Housing character here is one of the things buyers love. In and around Carpentersville and the Dundees you will find solid mid-century ranches and split-levels, plenty of them updated, at prices that still feel reasonable for the collar counties. Cross into Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and the Randall Road growth areas and you pick up 1990s-and-newer subdivisions, two-stories with garages and yards, and walkable pockets near parks and schools. Retail and dining have followed the rooftops out to Randall Road and Spring Hill, so you are never far from groceries, big-box shopping, or a quick dinner out, while the older river towns keep a small, historic Main Street feel.

The school
Dundee-Crown High School opened in the fall of 1983 when District 300 merged two older east-of-the-Fox-River schools: Dundee Community High School, whose roots trace to 1873, and Irving Crown High School, built in 1965. As the district's population grew west of the Fox River and Jacobs High School opened, the area no longer needed two high schools on the east side, so the two student bodies combined into the Chargers in 1984. The merged program is housed in the former Irving Crown building at 1500 Kings Road in Carpentersville.
Dundee-Crown carries a strong college-credit program. For the Class of 2025, 1,217 students earned early college credit, 492 students sat 722 AP exams, and 69% of those AP exams scored 3 or higher. The school posted a 92.6% four-year graduation rate. AP offerings span more than 18 subjects, and dual-credit options through Elgin Community College range from single courses to a full-time Accelerate College program.
Dundee-Crown competes in the Fox Valley Conference as an IHSA large-school program. The Chargers have reached the state-finals podium in several sports, including a fourth-place boys basketball finish in 2009, fourth-place wrestling finishes in 1985 and 2004, and a third-place 4x800 relay in 2018.

Thinking of selling?
Not a Zestimate. A real CMA from someone who's sold this neighborhood, knows the floor plan premiums, and can tell you which upgrades the buyer pool here actually pays for.
