Day to day, the location is hard to beat for commuters and families. Families are drawn by the District 204 schools, including an elementary school inside the subdivision itself, and by amenities like the Brookdale Racquet Club pool and tennis, the Buccaneers summer swim team, neighborhood playgrounds, and the trails of adjacent McDowell Grove Forest Preserve.

The honest tradeoffs: these are older homes. Buyers should expect 1970s through 1980s floor plans and, in many cases, updating of kitchens, baths, roofs, windows, and mechanicals unless a home has already been renovated. Being minutes from the Route 59 corridor and the tollway means convenience but also nearby traffic and commercial density rather than a secluded setting. Property taxes, as everywhere in DuPage and Naperville, are high in absolute terms. And because the pool and tennis club is a separate paid membership rather than a mandatory amenity, households should budget for it if they want that access.
