The area, not just the school
Ogden's high school campus sits on Erie Street in West Town, one of Chicago's most walkable and eclectic near-west neighborhoods. The blocks around the school mix vintage workers' cottages and brick three-flats with rehabbed greystones and newer luxury condos, so you get real range at real price points. You are a short walk from the dining and nightlife along Chicago Avenue and Division Street, and the pocket has the kind of live-and-walk feel that keeps buyers coming back.
Commute-wise it is hard to beat. The CTA Blue Line at Chicago Avenue is a few minutes on foot and puts the Loop roughly ten minutes away, and Ogilvie and Union Station are close for Metra riders heading to the suburbs. First-time buyers, downtown professionals, and families who want a city school with an international bent all end up looking here.

The school
About Ogden International High School
Ogden traces to 1857, when it opened as William B. Ogden Elementary School, named for Chicago's first mayor. The senior high division was added in 2009 and graduated its first class in 2013, and the school later grew into a three-campus operation. Today it runs as a single International Baccalaureate school, with the high school grades housed at the West Campus in West Town.
Ogden is a full-continuum IB World School, described as the first and only school in Illinois authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme, and the Diploma Programme. The high school also offers Advanced Placement coursework alongside the IB Diploma.
The Ogden Owls compete in the Chicago Public League. The girls basketball program has been the standout in recent years, winning the Public League city championship in 2023 and repeating as city champions in 2024.
